As many items are handmade, slight variations may occur between products.

 

 

4. Custom Orders

​

Custom-made costumes are created specifically to customer requirements.

By approving designs, measurements, fabrics, embellishments, colours, or sketches, you acknowledge that:

• Final products are based on the information provided by the customer

• Minor variations may occur due to handmade construction

• Measurements supplied by the customer are the customer’s responsibility

• Approved designs cannot be substantially changed once production has begun

Steph Wilks Costumier reserves the right to refuse design changes after work has commenced.

 

 

5. Pricing & Payments

All prices are listed in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) unless otherwise stated.

Payment may be required in full or via deposit before work commences.

Steph Wilks Costumier reserves the right to:

• Change pricing at any time

• Correct pricing errors

• Cancel orders resulting from incorrect pricing or website errors

Orders will not be shipped or production begun until required payments are received.

 

 

6. Online Product Descriptions

Steph Wilks Costumier takes reasonable care to ensure all product descriptions, photographs, sizing information, and specifications are accurate and comply with the Fair Trading Act 1986.

However:

• Handmade items may vary slightly from photographs

• Embellishment placement may differ slightly between garments

• Fabrics and trims may occasionally vary due to supplier availability

• Product images are intended as a visual guide only

Steph Wilks Costumier does not guarantee that every screen, device, or display will represent products identically.

 

 

7. Colour Accuracy Disclaimer

Steph Wilks Costumier makes every reasonable effort to display fabric and costume colours as accurately as possible.

However, actual colours may vary due to:

• Screen settings

• Monitor calibration

• Device display differences

• Lighting conditions during photography

• Fabric dye lot variations

By purchasing online, customers acknowledge that slight colour differences between website images and final products may occur and do not automatically constitute a fault under the Consumer Guarantees Act.

Where colour matching is critical, customers are encouraged to request fabric samples before ordering where available (postage covered by customer).

 

 

8. Deposits & Cancellations

Deposits for custom orders are generally non-refundable once materials have been purchased or work has commenced.

If a customer cancels a custom order:

• Costs already incurred may be deducted

• Completed work remains payable

• Steph Wilks Costumier may retain ownership of unfinished products until payment is made

Steph Wilks Costumier reserves the right to cancel an order if:

• Required information is not provided

• Payments are not received

• Customer conduct is abusive or unreasonable

• Materials become unavailable

 

 

9. Shipping & Delivery

Delivery timeframes are estimates only and may vary during busy periods.

Steph Wilks Costumier is not liable for delays caused by:

• Courier companies

• Customs processing

• Weather events

• Supply chain disruptions

• Events outside reasonable control

Risk of loss or damage passes to the customer upon delivery unless otherwise required by New Zealand law.

Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.

 

 

10. Returns, Repairs & Consumer Guarantees

Customers are entitled to rights and remedies under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

If a product has a major fault, customers may be entitled to:

Custom-made products are generally not eligible for change-of-mind returns.

Steph Wilks Costumier may refuse returns where:

• Incorrect measurements were supplied by the customer

• Products have been worn, damaged, altered, or washed improperly

• The issue relates solely to minor variations or expected handmade differences

Customers must contact Steph Wilks Costumier within a reasonable timeframe after receiving goods if they believe a fault exists.

 

 

11. Intellectual Property

All designs, sketches, images, logos, branding, website content, and costume concepts created by Steph Wilks Costumier remain the intellectual property of Steph Wilks Costumier unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Customers may not reproduce, copy, resell, or commercially distribute designs without written permission.

 

 

12. Social Media & Photography

Steph Wilks Costumier may photograph completed costumes for:

• Portfolio use

• Social media

• Website galleries

• Marketing purposes

If customers do not wish images to be used, written notice must be provided before delivery.

• Copy website content without permission
